Despite its ever-increasing popularity, Zermatt has still managed to remain its authentic, genuine character, and it is these qualities that are embodied in the exclusive new ZERMATT UNPLUGGED music festival.
The festival is the only real stage in Switzerland for international and local artists and provides the perfect setting for a demanding fan base to have genuine acoustic enjoyment. Only an absolute minimum of technical equipment is allowed, in order to guarantee the real – unplugged – sound of the artists in an exclusive yet unpretentious, uncomplicated and genuine setting like Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn itself.
The first ZERMATT UNPLUGGED will be launched in spring 2007 with concerts over three days, held in the Vernissage und Heimberg venues which were designed by local artist Heinz Julen. And from henceforth, the end of every winter sports season will be heralded by a wide-ranging musical event held at different indoor and outdoor venues across the town.
